I won’t tell you the lie that I don’t want flowers. I still want them, but if you are thinking of something else, here are some easy ideas that any homesteading mom/wife/ gal would love.

- 1. A cow. Please deliver her already in milk and trained to walk in the stanchion and be milked. One that never kicks the bucket over or flicks me with her tail.
- 2. Four laying chickens that lay their eggs IN the nesting box… preferably in the morning… and that absolutely never eat their shells.
- 3. A hose that never gets tangled. It also hangs itself up every evening and shuts itself off if it’s left on too long.
- 4. A new shelf to fill with more mason jars.
- 5. … more mason jars.
- 6. Muck boots that feel like slippers, but keep the muck out.
- 7. Sourdough starter that feeds itself.
- 8. Rich garden soil that is already the perfect pH before we add it to our raised garden beds.
- 9. Grocery shopping for the week done, organized and meal prepped. Oh, and plenty of snacks for the kids to grab to deter them from whining about being close to death from starvation.
- 10. A goat that only eats the shrubs and plants I want them to eat and NEVER breaks free from their fence.
I think that’s a good place to start. Not too unrealistic, right?
